The town of Tin Can Bay is located on Queensland’s beautiful Sunshine Coast, only 2.5 hours north of Brisbane. Known as the gateway to the World Heritage-listed Fraser Island, Tin Can Bay is famous for its pristine waters, beautiful beach, and laid-back lifestyle. There are a number of things to do in Tin Can Bay, including exploring the World Heritage-listed Fraser Island. This 2,700-sq-km island is one of the largest sand islands in the world. There are several tour operators that offer Fraser Island tours. The operators provide a range of options including 4WD tours, day tours, overnight camping tours, and even river cruises. Other popular activities in Tin Can Bay include fishing charters, whale-watching, dolphin and seal watching, four-wheel driving, golf, diving, swimming, surfing, and snorkelling.

Other attractions in the town include Fraser Island, the Tin Can Bay Museum, the Heritage Village, the Tin Can Bay Golf Club and the Tin Can Bay Botanic Gardens. The Tin Can Bay Golf Club is a scenic nine-hole course situated on the edge of the beach. The course is open all year round.
